Wole Adamolekun, PhD is a Professor of Mass Communication at Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria, and one of Africa’s most experienced scholars and practitioners at the intersection of public relations, strategic communication, and governance.

With more than forty years of active engagement across academia, government, and the private sector, Professor Adamolekun brings rare depth to everything he does. His career has spanned the downstream petroleum industry, micro credit administration, national youth development, social political communication, and crisis management, not as a distant observer, but as a decision maker in the rooms where policy was made.

The Executive Years

Before returning to the academy, Professor Adamolekun served in top management positions across some of Nigeria’s most strategic institutions, rising to the roles of Interim Executive Secretary/CEO and General Manager, Operations and Corporate Services at the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) the body responsible for regulating Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector. In that capacity, he helped shape policy, managed institutional communication, and navigated some of the most complex stakeholder environments in the country.

This blend of executive experience and academic rigour is rare. It is what makes him not just a professor who teaches strategic communication, but one who has lived it.

Professor Adamolekun is a prolific and internationally recognised scholar. His body of published work includes:
